Week 4: The Promise Continues
Crossroads Grand Narrative — Week 4: Promise Continues
This week traces God's covenant with Abraham as it passes to Isaac and Jacob. Genesis 25–35 follows a family marked by deception, rivalry, and fear—yet through it all, God stays faithful to His promise. Watch two threads: His People, as the covenant moves from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob, forming the family through whom God will bless every nation; and His Presence, especially at Bethel, where Jacob dreams, wrestles with God, and receives a new name—Israel—a name that will shape the rest of Scripture's story.
As you read, ask: how does God remain faithful even when His people are deeply imperfect? Trace not just what Jacob does, but what God does—pursuing, meeting, and keeping His word.
God's faithfulness is greater than the failures of the people He chooses to use.
